Visual Impressions…

These are my visual impressions of the week.. A new segment on the blog that wouldn’t necessarily be centered on hair.. Just anything I find on Instagram or the web generally that I appreciate and I think you’ll appreciate too and maybe draw some inspiration or style from. Last week, I saw a post on the Internet on how a natural haired girl in the Bahamas I think was kicked out of school by her principal for her “untidy” hair and all of that and it inspired me to put up this post. I’m not an advocate for natural hair or anything like that but it’s just so beautiful and it keeps blowing my mind away and no one should have a problem with it.. I know our hair can be all over the place sometimes but I’ll take a few bad hair days to look this awesome yes? Continue reading

Scalp massages for promoting healthy hair growth..

Lately I’ve been trying to introduce new practices to my regimen, try new products and all that and one thing that’s caught my attention of recent is scalp massages. I haven’t really been doing them so far in my hair journey except when shampooing so I was curious about it and decided to read up on it and after I did, I thought it was worth sharing so here..

Scalp massage therapy is possibly one of the most relaxing treatments out there because there is so much tension in our neck and head and having a little relief by massaging those areas makes a lot of difference.. But asides that, the most important benefit of a good head massage is increasing blood flow to your head and scalp.  Performing a hair care regimen that keeps hair clean, conditioned and moisturized helps to ensure that hair grows out strong and healthy and adding a scalp massage to a hair care regimen stimulates the scalp, improves circulation and reduces stress. If you’re to promote hair growth, you should consider performing scalp massages regularly. This new blood flow will stimulate the capillaries in your head and promote healthy hair regrowth.

Benefits
1. It helps enhance blood circulation in the head and neck area. When the scalp is “tight” from stress, circulation and hair growth are impeded.
2. It lubricates and conditions the scalp, helping to prevent flakes and dry scalp without the use of harsh chemical shampoos.

How to have fun with your hair.

Hey guys.

So I just thought I should remind y’all that as important as it is to take care of your hair and grow healthy and beautiful hair, I think it’s also important to remember to enjoy that beautiful hair. Bring it out once in a while, style it, color it (can be temporary), blow dry or  stretch it, do whatever works but just have fun because hey! It’s your hair..

So I’ll just post some pictures serving you some natural hair goodness and fun because long gone are the days when growing your natural hair was boring or reserved. Enjoy and let me know what you think.

Natural Hairstyles: Big hair or high puff..

Hey guys.. So I took out my faux locs earlier than I planned to which by the way I spent several hours on and for the life of me, I cant figure out why. Maybe its because I get bored wearing the same style for more than two weeks at a stretch. Anyway, I would loveee to wear my hair out and all over the place everyday if I could but my hair and shrinkage are besties so that doesn’t happen often except that it happened today..yay
